These masks would look perfect on a wall as decorations, however I believe that authentic masks should be displayed in a museum than a house. Unfortunately, there are still who would buy this kind of items in the black market, which only promotes poaching of artifacts.

Maskers zijn de kern van een totaalspektakel, waarin de sculptuur verscheen temidden van kleurrijke kostuums, zang, dans en rituele handelingen. Die gebruiken worden in het moderne Afrika nog steeds toegepast. Helaas gaat het geloof in de magische kracht van de maskers achteruitgaat.

I have an African mask hanging over the fireplace of my living room and it makes a great talking point. Whenever someone comes round to my house the mask if often the first thing they ask about.
